Natural Gas Scheduler

Mobius Risk Group is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to support our growing team. This position will play an integral part within our Product Development team. The Principal Software Engineer will report to the CEO.

The Role

The Natural Gas Scheduler will plan, coordinate, and balance natural gas nominations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and pipeline operations. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient scheduling, timely delivery, and risk management.

Responsibilities

Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly natural gas transportation schedules and balances. Coordinate with pipeline operators and market participants to optimize scheduling efficiency.

Market Analysis & Risk Management: Monitor market conditions, regulatory changes, and infrastructure constraints that affect natural gas flows. Assess and mitigate scheduling risks through proactive analysis and timely communication.

Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of scheduled volumes, confirmations, and changes. Generate and distribute regular performance and risk management reports to clients.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with trading, operations, and risk management teams to ensure alignment of scheduling strategies with overall business objectives. Serve as a primary point of contact for operational issues, discrepancies, or scheduling conflicts.

Compliance & Process Improvement: Ensure all scheduling activities comply with industry regulations and internal policies. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to system enhancements to increase operational efficiency.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Energy Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

0-4 years of experience in natural gas scheduling, pipeline operations, or a related energy sector role.

Strong understanding of natural gas markets, pipeline logistics, and regulatory requirements.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external partners.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Proficiency in scheduling software, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools.

Familiarity with industry-specific software (e.g., scheduling and trading platforms) is a plus.
