Role and Responsibilities
Karla is a Director of Commodity Risk at Mobius, where she supports natural gas scheduling and operational risk management for producers and marketers. She has been at Mobius since 2020, and previously spent 23 years at BP Energy as a Senior Transportation Representative. Across more than three decades in energy markets, she's built deep, hands-on experience in physical natural gas transportation and daily pipeline operations.
Her work focuses on daily scheduling operations and the management of imbalances. She monitors EBB systems for imbalance reports, communicates with midstream shippers, and ensures nominations are entered and maintained accurately across pipelines. A large part of what she does involves tracking and reconciling operational data—volumes, counterparties, and locations—to make sure positions are correct and actionable.
She often gets involved when things become urgent or complex, especially when reallocations cause imbalances to swing significantly. In those situations, she evaluates the exposure and decides whether to address the imbalance immediately or manage it over time.
Beyond day-to-day scheduling, she has helped clients build operational structure from the ground up. Clients value the depth of her experience and her ability to respond quickly when issues arise. Her background covers natural gas transportation, nominations processes, EBB systems, and imbalance trading, and I apply that experience to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Prior Experience
Karla has thirty-three years of industry experience – all in natural gas scheduling. While at BP, she was responsible for 100% flow assurance on production gas, as well as contacting counterparties to confirm volumes, contracts, and locations for receipt and/or delivery of gas. Karla’s main areas of expertise are in the northeast maintaining Transco pipeline and the interconnecting facilities in that area. Her experience also includes month-end deal capture and processing in systems, like Endur, for “Day One” close accounting.
